“Fall”- In Love

My brother-in-law and his fiance’ asked me recently to do their engagement photos. I was so excited! I had never done an engagement before. We had a blast doing their photos. We went to Antioch Park for their session. It was a beautiful day and lucky for me, even a bit warm.

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys. Thank you both so much!

Isn’t she Lovely!

I’ve been blessed twice this year to take photos to celebrate birthdays. I photographed this little bundle of sweetness for his first birthday and this past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph this little doll for her two year pictures. When editing her photos, Stevie Wonders song, “Isn’t she lovely” kept playing in my head (I’m showing my age that I even know that song :)

Thank you Lauren and Eric. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Pumpkin’ Pickin’

We were invited this weekend by some friends of ours to go to a local pumpkin patch. I was thrilled to be invited. We hadn’t been to a patch in years.

Powell’s Pumpkin Patch is located off of Highway 69, South of Stilwell and Bucyrus. Take the 247th Street exit and Turn Left on Quivira. The pumpkin patch is just a few miles south on Quivira. We came home with a pumpkin for everyone and even some small decorative ones, all for less than $20. They also have a free hayride for the kids. Here are a few photos from our day at the patch.

Tagged

Tagging is pretty popular in the blogging world. It’s similar to the emails you get where you type information in about yourself and pass it on to the next person. I’ve been tagged by Kelly.   Here are the rules:

1.  Post the rules on your blog

2.  Write seven random things about yourself

3.  Tag seven people at the end of your post

4.  Pass on the tag

Okay.  Here we go.

1.  I’m not a girly girl.  That’s probably pretty obvious.  My hair is short.  My nails are always short and unpainted.  I’ve never had a pedicure.  This isn’t to say I wish I wasn’t a little more girly.  I’m much more attentive now to styles and trends.  I would love to jazz it up a bit, but, I’m still a jeans and comfy shirt kinda girl.

2. I’ve been recycling since college.  I’m trying to become greenier all the time and have decided to use my blog as a means to spread the word.

3.  I’ve never had salad dressing.  The only dressing I have ever had is the kind on that oriental cabbage salad.

4.  I desperately want to learn how to run barrels on my horse.

5.  I would pick Mayo any day over Miracle Whip.

6.   I think I talk too much.  I’m always second guessing what I’ve said, worried that I’ve said the wrong thing.

7.  I love my life and I feel so blessed with everything that I have.

Okay, so, now the really hard part.  To tag seven people with blogs.

Here we go: Jen, Kim, Jen, Brandi, Kristen, Kathy, and.(only 6, I know)
Tag, now you’re it!

Can’t end without a photoMaggie on our tree swing.

Have a great day.

No plans for the weekend

Kristen over at Dine and Dish clued me in on a new movie at the theaters, Fireproof.  All though I’m not a big Kirk Cameron fan, but I hear Kristen once was :) this looks date night worthy.

Have a great weekend.

The blogging Life

Blogging really isn’t so hard.  I actually kind of enjoy it.  I’m huge on sharing things; a great find at a store, a sale going on, a recipe, a time saving tip.  I could go on and on.  I’m always thinking of things I could blog about and actually get excited about it.  The downside to blogging can be if you feel like you your blogging to yourself.  You have no audience.  Kind of like talking to yourself.  All though sometimes it’s a great thing, you always agree with yourself and your opinion, :), it can be kind of lonely.

I blogged earlier in the year and finally abandon it.  Not solely because of the above, but, it did weigh into my decision.  When I decided to go into business for myself blogging was strongly encouraged.  I was hesitant to try again, but, jumped right back in.

I like to read other blogs as well.  My friend Kelly, from Kelly Holder Photography (Leavenworth, KS) introduced me to Google Reader, which was a life saver for keeping up with blogs.  One of my favorite blogs is my friend Kristen, from Dine and Dish.  Kristen blogged yesterday on The Hazards of Blogging.  It was a wonderful post, and it opened my eyes for me.

Kristen shares some wonderful stories and recipes on her blog.  Here is a link for you

 Dine and Dish.

I’ll leave you with a recent favorite of mine.

Have a great day.
